Tembisa Marele is an independent media and communications strategist, facilitator, MC, and conference speaker who is sought after by many high profile organizations. With over 12 years in the media, her experience spans across print, radio, and television.
Thembisa is brilliant at helping businesses build strong reputations that get them closer to delivering on their strategic goals. Her experience lies in corporate communications, marketing, stakeholder management, strategic advisory, business support, and driving the reputation management strategy of an organization.
Thembisa has had an illustrious career that includes her time as SABC Africa business journalist where she was honoured with the Rising Star award in 2005. In 2011, she went into consulting, which is what led to the position she now holds as Head of Communications for the Financial Services Board where she drives the organization’s communications strategy. She captivates audiences with hard hitting journalism as the host of Interface on SABC 2, an Interactive discussion programme focusing on current affairs of the week.
Tembisa holds a Masters’ degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Milpark business School, a BA Hons in media studies from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, and a Diploma in Radio and TV production from the National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa and completed the 2018 Corporate Affairs Academy at Oxford University’s Saïd Business School.
She is passionate about financial education and having conversations about economic empowerment.

She is the CEO of Busara Leadership Partners, Busara (which means wisdom, prudence and intelligence) is a research-orientated strategic advisory and consulting company whose expertise is to facilitate the development and effectiveness of individuals to achieve their desired goals. Dudu started her career as an in 1995 and broken down many barriers in her 20 year career.
Dudu believes in the value of Leadership, Strategy and Governance and these elements have played a profound role in how she has conducted business successfully over the years. She was given a seat at the table with shareholders and this allowed her to give input. Making significant contributions at such a level early in her professional life helped to mold her, and her interest in corporate governance. Her experience as a strategist has enabled her to design and deliver innovative and pioneering masterclasses, leadership and entrepreneurship development programmes covering an integrated approach to Leadership, Strategy and Governance.

Ms Cynthia Schoeman
MD, Ethics Monitor
Cynthia Schoeman is the Managing Director of Ethics Monitoring & Management Services (Pty) Ltd, it was started by Cynthia in 2010 to promote the proactive management of workplace ethics and to provide practical support to organisations to improve and more effectively manage their ethics. Its services and products are based on more than 16 years of research, development, lectures and workshops in the field of workplace ethics.
She is also a founding Non-Executive Director of the Ethics Practitioners Association (EPA), and sits on the Investigating Committee of the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA). She has accumulated over 15 years’ experience in the field of workplace ethics and governance.
Cynthia has lectured on workplace ethics to a wide variety of audiences since 2002, from students to senior executives. She is part of the external faculty for South Africa’s top business schools, including the University of Witwatersrand Wits Business School, the University of Pretoria Gordon Institute of Business Science, the University of Stellenbosch Business School Executive Development and the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business.
Her experience in research and teaching led her to develop the notable web-based survey, The Ethics Monitor, it is a practical tool to help organisations measure, monitor and proactively manage ethics within the. Cynthia Schoeman offers customised consulting, workshops and training to improve ethics in organisations and address how values and ethics will make positive business sense. Cynthia has lectured on ethics at SA’s top business schools for many years and is a regular speaker at notable conferences and seminars. She has authored two books on workplace ethics: Ethics Can (2014) and Ethics: Giving a Damn, Making a Difference (2012).
She strives to improve ethics in the public and private sector organisations as well as promote managing ethics proactively by building a critical mass of people who are committed to ethics and by enabling them to make a significant difference.
Ms Emma Mashilwane
CEO, Masa Risk Advisory
Emma is a commercially astute CA(SA), RA with over 15 years of industry experience providing Internal Audit and Risk Advisory Services. Emma’s career path has taken her from articles at KPMG, to the defence industry, a BEE company, back into KPMG, and eventually saw her headhunted to lead the revitalisation and growth of the internal audit portfolio at Nkonki. Under her skillful watch over her tenure, the portfolio grew significantly in revenue, headcount and intellectual capital.
She is the Founder of MASA Risk Advisory Services (MASA), it is a newly established internal audit and risk advisory boutique firm that is majority black female owned. MASA means “Dawn” in the indigenous language of Sepedi and signifies the dawn of a professional services firm. Emma values of integrity, trustworthiness, transparency, quality and objectivity in everything we do. MASA was Emma’s brainchild alognside business partner Brian Mungofa who are both seasoned chartered accountants and internal audit professionals.
Among her growing list of achievements, Emma has occupied positions of Head-Internal Audit at Nkonki, Inc, served on the boards of Tiger Brands Ltd., Murray & Roberts Holdings Ltd. and Famous Brands Ltd. Her area of expertise includes, auditing, financial management, governance, enterprise risk management.

Ms Zimkita Mabindla
Partner-Audit, Ernst & Young
Zimkita grew up in the obscure town of Butterworth in the Eastern Cape, surrounded by poverty. Despite her humber beginnings, she has elevated herself to immense heights starting as an Articled Clerk at EY in 2000 she climbed the Ernst & Young ladder from the ground up and is now a Director & Partner at the prestigious accounting firm. Throughout her career she has diversified and made significant strides in the corporate world.
She has also served as Chief Financial Officer at Digby Wells, a multidisciplinary organisation that provides comprehensive environmental and social solutions across the resources and infrastructure sectors,in 2015 and as a Senior Executive at SAICA, a professional accountancy body, in 2016
Zimkitha is a thought leader who influences and informs strategies, legislation, policy, reporting and auditing standards, governance standards in a number of innovative ways.
Zimkita is best known for her relentless work ethic and the exceptional quality of her work. She holds an Honors degree in Accounting from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
Mr Sango Ntsaluba
CEO, NMT Capital
Sango is a founding member and Chairman of NMT Capital. He represents NMT Capital in multiple Boards that include Basil Read, Goldplat Recovery and ELCB. He has extensive business experience as an Entrepreneur, a Senior Executive and in the auditing profession with experience that spans over 30 years.
Sango is an independent board member of Barloworld Limited and is the Chairperson of its Audit Committee as well as being a member of several other committees. Sango serves on various Public Sector Boards such as the National Housing Finance Corporation, where he chairs its Audit Committee in addition to being a member of other committees. He serves on the Board of Pioneer Foods and is a member of their Audit Committee, Risk and Nominations Committee.
Sango serves on the board of Kumba Iron Ore and chairs its Audit Committee as well as other committees. He founded SizweNtsalubaGobodo, one of the large Auditing and Accounting firms in South Africa.
With the impressive longevity of his career, Sango Ntsaluba is definitely at the top of the list of people to learn from and be inspired by. He has a passion to ensure the empowerment of black people and giving back, especially to his community in rural Eastern Cape where he comes from. His hopes for the success of the country is evident in the way he conducts his business, colouring how he deals with the clients in his portfolio and the strategy of the business going forward.
Ms Pontso Nyathi
Partner: Head of Forensic Services
Pontso Nyathi is a Partner/Director and Head of Forensic Services at SizweNtsalubaGobodo. She has more than 14 years forensic, accounting, investigations and risk management experience within Public Sector and Private Sector.
She holds a BCom in Financial Accounting, an Advanced Certificate in Criminal Justice and Forensic Investigation, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Investigative and Forensic Accounting. She is currently pursuing her Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Fraud Risk Management with the University of Pretoria.
She also sits on a number of boards including the Institute of Commercial Forensic Practitioners, a self-regulatory body mandated by members to Cohere, Coordinate and Regulate the commercial forensic profession in South Africa and serves as the Head of Forensics at SNG Grant Thornton, a leading independent assurance, tax and advisory firm.
Pontso’s experience in the forensics arena has led her to believe in transparency, and as a progressive thinker she is passionate about transformation and collaboration to create possibilities for professionals and an environment for them to thrive.
Mr Teddy Daka
CEO, Etion Ltd
Global businessman, academic and South African philanthropist Teddy Daka is a living embodiment of leadership that is inspired to actively lead and help drive the potential that Africa has witnessed in the last few years, and one that is confident in the continent’s future economic possibilities, development and shared prosperity.
Teddy is Group CEO and a major shareholder in Etion Limited, a Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) listed digital technology solutions provider and a company he joined in 2012 with the objective to turn it around from a loss-making business into a profitable one, and secondly to transform it from its engineering heritage to a digital technology business that is market ready to drive the 4th Industrial Revolution on the African continent as well as on a global scale. Daka was named the IT Personality of the Year 2018, by the Institute of Information Technology Professionals SA (IITPSA), in association with GIBS, Gartner, Brainstorm and ITWeb
Today the business has transformed into a provider that sees limitations as opportunities, and design solutions that enhance the safety, productivity, connectivity and cyber security of it its customers. Teddy is a keen academic, currently studying for his Phd. He holds a masters in business administration, a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management (Honours) and has completed several executive programmes at international business school
Daka is passionate about Africa and its people, he believes firmly in the continent's possibilities of economic growth and development. His greatest strength is in Strategy, he views limitations as an opportunity to reposition yourself. Ms Dudu Nyamane
Non Executive Director at Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Africa
Dudu Nyamane has more than 28 years of corporate working experience with IBM, Old Mutual, SARS, and SAFCOL, She started her career at Old Mutual in 1980 in information technology, initially served as Technical Specialist. She is currently serving as a non-executive director on four corporate boards. She sits as a chairperson of three Social Ethics, HR and Remuneration committees, as well as a chairperson of two Trusts. Dudu is currently an acting Chairperson for a State Owned Company.
Her work experience includes serving as a Group Human Resources Director for three large companies, working in corporate communications, corporate community investment, a brief assignment with the RDP office in 1995, and a secondment with IBM in the UK. Dudu holds a BA social sciences degree, MBA degree and a Management Advanced Programme. Her key work attributes are personal accountability, ownership and walking the extra mile.
Dudu speaks highly of how important education has been on her journey to her growing success in business, she said “My MBA has enriched my years of corporate experience and positioned me to tackle any business or leadership role competently and with confidence. Doors are opening much wider as I approach my years of retirement.”
After over 30 years in the corporate world, she decided to leave in 2009 to pursue a consulting career in HR. Ever since, she has been serving as a non-executive director of companies in various industries like mining, energy resources, academia and IT. Next to that, she also chairs two trusts funded by overseas companies
Dudu is the Chairperson for the Joy Global Foundation.She is passionate about education and advocates for initiatives such The Karabo Project, where the aim is to provide extra classes in mathematics and physical sciences on weekends and public holidays to learners from the Vosloorus community. Joy Global Mining Solutions partnered with the Karabo Centre to fund it and support this initiative.
Mr Johan Coetzee
Non Executive Director at National Housing Finance Corporation
Johan serves as a Non Executive Director at National Housing Finance Corporation, Johan’s role is to provide innovative and affordable housing finance solutions to the low-to-middle income housing market and to broaden and deepen access to affordable housing finance for the low-to-middle income South African households. He also acts as moderator and external Examiner at the GIBS Institute and Contract Lecturer at Enterprises at the University of Pretoria.

Ms Tshifhiwa Ramuthaga
Chief Information Officer, Barloworld Logistics
Tshifhiwa is a passionate advocate of the transformative capabilities that can be achieved through technology, she is also a visionary who believes in creating spaces and opportunities that allow others to grow, Tshifhiwa Ramuthaga’s career has seen her work at large organisations, including Telkom, Standard Bank, the Financial Services Board, and now Barloworld, where she is its Chief Information Officer (CIO). She’s been in IT positions that are integral to companies such as Telkom, Standard Bank and, most recently, the Financial Services Board, and also won the Visionary CIO award in 2014.
Ramuthaga fell in love with the untapped potential and the technological framework that has the capabilities to transform and was given the opportunity, during her career at Telkom, to work across numerous areas of the IT profession. She leads in strategy, planning and implementation of information systems to support business operations and achieve optimal results within the organisation and is highly skilled in Corporate and IT governance, Business Process, Enterprise Risk Management, Analytical Skills, Business Process Design, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
Tshifhiwa Ramuthaga has come a long way from her hometown of Matangari, where her education started at the age of four in a mud school. Now with her Master's Degree in IT from the University of Pretoria and an MBA from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), she is the CIO of the Financial Services Board (FSB). Ramuthaga has strong opinions driven by her relentless work ethic, her unwavering belief in talent management, and her ability to manage 'her team' of capable and smart people.
Ms Takalani Netshitenzhe
Chief Officer: Corporate Affairs, Vodacom Group
Takalani Netshitenzhe has been the Chief Officer of Corporate Affairs at Vodacom Group Limited since September 15, 2016. She spent 20 years in government working predominantly as a lawyer and Policy advisor. During those 20 years, in her legal and policy development and implementation work, as well as in her capacity as a Ministerial Advisor, she developed well-refined public policy development skills and an understanding thereof, including stakeholder and relationship management skills. She has also operated as CEO of an electronic communications security agency of the National Intelligence Agency (now State Security). Ms. Netshitenzhe was the head of office and policy services for the Intelligence Council, ambassador of South Africa to Hungary and Croatia for 4 years and intelligence policy and legal advisor for the Ministry of State Security. She has spent the entirety of her career in governmental environments and is innately knowledgeable.
She was awarded the Hungary Eotvos ELTE University commemorative medal and certificate for her relentless efforts to promote academic and cultural cooperation between SA and Hungary and strengthening the bilateral relations and intensifying educational ties between the two countries. She has received a plethora of awards, including the Intelligence Services Woman of the Year Award for meritorious contribution to the legal and policy framework for intelligence in SA.
Takalani was admitted as an advocate in the High Court of South Africa in 1996 and has completed multiple post-graduate degrees, diplomas and certifications. These achievements include a masters degree in Security Studies from the University of Pretoria, a higher diploma in Company Law and a Bachelor of Law degree, both from Witwatersrand University and a BJuris degree from the University of Venda. She holds Executive Education and Post Graduate Certificates (Wits and Harvard Kennedy School of Government).
Takalani has said “There is nothing as powerful as looking at the face of someone whose life you have touched” and she has committed herself to education and gender empowerment.
